Kala Pola 2014 – Sri Lanka’s annual open-air art fair will take place on Sunday 26 January 2014 along Nelum Pokuna Mawatha, Colombo 07. The street will come alive, as it has done over the past many years, with painters, sculptors, caricaturists, as they ‘perform’ to throngs of appreciative visitors. Chief Guest at the official ceremony at 5 p.m. will be South Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Jong-moon Choi.
Presented by The George Keyt Foundation and the John Keells Group, Kala Pola has grown into a much-awaited cultural event over the past twenty years and is today a not-to-be-missed event in Colombo’s annual cultural calendar. Kala Pola will open at 8 a.m. and continue for fourteen hours non-stop until 10 p.m. the same night. All are welcome.
