LAUGFS distributes over 1000 plants to mark World Environment Day

LAUGFS Eco Sri celebrated World Environment Day in grand style on 5 June with the free distribution of over 1000 plants to motorists who passed vehicle emission testing at Eco Sri centres island-wide.
This massive project was carried out across 19 Eco Sri centres around the country and the first 50 motorists who passed the testing at each centre were given a plant. The centres chosen for this program were in the cities of Anuradhapura, Balapitiya, Matara, Galle, Bellanthota, Embuldeniya, Kottawa, Kaduwela, Miriswatta, Kiribathgoda, Kaluthara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matale, Katunayaka, Kotikawatta, Kurunegala, Polonnaruwa and Rathnapura.
In addition to this, a tree planting ceremony took place at LAUGFS Eco Sri Embuldeniya branch to mark this important day with LAUGFS Eco Sri CEO Rear Admiral Damayantha Dharmasiriwardena, LAUGFS Eco Sri DGM Daham De Silva and the staff of the centre taking part in the planting of the trees on the premises of the centre.
These initiatives aimed to highlight the importance of trees for the survival and well being of current and future generations. It was another step in the continuing journey of LAUGFS Eco Sri, a company that has been at the forefront of preserving the environment and preventing air pollution, towards a greener and healthier Sri Lanka.
Eco Sri is the vehicle emission testing arm of diversified conglomerate LAUGFS.
The Department of Motor Traffic of Sri Lanka administers a mandatory vehicle emissions testing and repair program with LAUGFS Eco Sri to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
Through this LAUGFS Eco Sri maintains vehicle performance to lower emissions and extend the life of a vehicle. The company uses new testing technology with state-of-the-art equipment and customer service measures that increase the effectiveness of emissions testing and shorten the time customers spend in the emission testing process.
