In order to mark the lead up to Earth Hour LAUGFS Eco Srihas been carrying out a promotional campaign from 24 to 29 March at its Emission Testing Centres across the country. All vehicle users who make a pledge and ensure that their vehicles are environmentally friendly by having an emission test carried out at one of the Centres will stand a chance to win exciting prizes.
Earth Hour takes place annually and engages hundreds of millions of people worldwide to take positive actions for the environment while showcasing the steps that people, businesses and governments world-wide are taking to reduce their environmental impact.
As the main event of Earth Hour 2014 people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour at precisely 8:30 p.m. today, 29 March. This global action will transcend all barriers of race, religion, culture, society, generation and geography in a global celebration of their commitment to protect the planet.
The Department of Motor Traffic of Sri Lanka administers a mandatory vehicle emissions testing and repair program with LAUGFS Eco Sri to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment. Through this LAUGFS Eco Sri also highlights the importance of maintaining vehicle performance to lower emissions and extend the life of a vehicle.
The company uses new testing technology with state-of-the-art equipment and customer service measures that increase the effectiveness of emissions testing and shorten the time customers spend in the emission testing process.
