Malaysian High Commissioner to address National Chamber on bilateral trade

The National Chamber will host the High Commissioner of Malaysia, Azmi Zainuddin, as Special Guest at a session on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka & Malaysia’ on Tuesday 23 September 2014 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium No 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mw, Colombo -10.
The High Commissioner will be accompanied by Tan Li Lung, Counsellor of the High Commission, and two other special guests, specially flown from MALTRADE, Chennai, Shah Nizam Ahmad, Trade Consul and Badrul Hisham Hilal, Vice Consul of MALTRADE, Chennai, who will also join the session. They will present on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other services available in Malaysia. There will also be Q & A session where the participants will get an opportunity to interact with the High Commissioner and other officials of the High Commission.
Sri Lanka Exports to Malaysia are mainly natural rubber and other major export items are apparel, tea, retreated or used pneumatic tyres of rubber, molluscs, whether in shell or not, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried, salted, etc.
Sri Lanka imports from Malaysia are mainly petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals .Other major imports from Malaysia include cement, whether or not coloured or in the form of clinkers, palm oil and its fractions, miscellaneous chemical products, etc.
