Mass pouring in large infrastructure projects

Holcim (Lanka) Ltd. organized a special one-day technical workshop for key engineers of the Road Development Authority (RDA) and the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) on mass pouring in large infrastructure projects to enhance the quality of ongoing and future large concrete works (mass pouring) of large infrastructure projects under the RDA and NWSDB. University professors, Sri Lanka industry experts and an Asian regional expert shared their experience on concrete application of mass pouring during the session. Holcim (Lanka) Ltd. CEO Eng. Philippe Richart opened the event with his welcome speech. Ministry of Ports and Highways Secretary Eng. Ranjith Premasiri and National Water Supply and Drainage Board Chairman Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi participated as special guests of the event. Prof. Anuara Nanayakkara shared his experience on thermal behaviour in thick concrete structures. Prof. Priyan Dias shared benefits of blended cements in mass pouring. Eng. Surasak Poosuntipong showed practical examples of mass pour concrete structures in Asia using blended cement. Eng. Thushara Priyadarshana showed how Holcim can provide support in mass pouring by providing services through its I&A Centre.
