Milcris Ltd., a leading construction consultancy project management company with offices in both Sri Lanka and Oman, involved in cost management, quantity surveying, project controls, project management and contract management, sponsored the ‘Green Lecture,’ a public lecture series conducted by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka in collaboration with ICTAD.

The company is currently engaged in a wide array of large projects in the residential, education, transportation, water supply, infrastructure, health, logistic facility, leisure and commercial sectors.

The Green Building Council of Sri Lanka is a consensus-based, not-for-profit organisation with diverse and integrated representation from all sectors of the property industry, environment and academia. This was established jointly by Sri Lankan architects, engineers, structural engineers, town planners, quantity surveyors, university academics, construction industry leaders, environmentalists and business leaders.
The Green Building Council of Sri Lanka is a member of the World Green Building Council, which represents a large number of countries ranging from developed to developing nations world-wide.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Rajib Basu Mallick, distinguished Professor of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA, who spoke on ‘Green Engineering Pavements through Recycling’. The two-hour session was well attended by both industry professionals as well as the general public.
“The aim of these public lectures is to promote and transform the Sri Lanka construction industry with green building practices and to fully adopt sustainability as the means by which our environment thrives, economy prospers and society grows, to ensure the future wellbeing of our motherland,” said Professor Ranjith Disanayake of the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka.
Milcris is the only Sri Lankan consultancy company to be regulated by the prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors UK.
