Mooloya Estate, which is one of first estates to be planted in tea way back in 1885, is currently owned and managed by Pussellawa Plantations PLC.
At this week’s tea auction, a line of PEK1 grade from Mooloya recorded an all-time record price of Rs. 690 per kg in Uda Pussellawa agro climatic region.
This surpassed their previous record price of Rs. 660 per kg. The buyer of this line of tea was Inter Tea Ltd.
Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. conducted the sale of this line of tea.
