Multilac sponsors feature wall painting competition at Golden Flame Awards 2014

Golden Flame Awards, organised by the Asia Pacific Hair Dressers and Cosmetologist Association was held in Sri Lanka for the second consecutive year on 16 and 17 September. The event was graced by Pradeepa Dharmadasa, who participated as the Chief Guest.
The award show comprised of 10 categories, namely ladies/gents hair cut and colour, evening hair style, bridal makeup, fantasy makeup, nail art, wedding cake structure decoration, birthday cake decoration, bridal bouquet competition, table flower decoration competition and the feature wall painting competition.
Playing a key role in the event, Multilac, the innovator sponsored the category ‘Feature Wall Painting Competition – Creative Paint Artist of the Year’. More than 120 applicants applied to participate in the Feature Wall Painting Competition and a special training session was conducted to teach them about the finer points related to the competition.
After this out of the 120 applicants, 52 were shortlisted and were provided with paint, tools and all other required material to carry out their creations for the competition. The special paint given to the competitors was Multilac Platinum Couture, which was an ideal selection, proved that it is a slow dry, water based decorative paint that can create stunning effects on interior walls.
M.A. Chamindri Sulakshi Hemendra emerged as the winner, winning the title Creative Paint Artist of the Year in the Feature Wall Painting category for 2014 and walked away with a cash price worth Rs. 50,000. Further five special certificates were given to five competitors who showcased their skills while all participants received a certificate for their contribution.
Multilac, by sponsoring this significant event aimed to make wall painting fashionable as well as to attract women towards painting. Further they hoped to uplift the conventional bass category to the wall designer category presenting it in a more professional front where many would look at it as an attractive proposition. It would also help the youth think differently while using the opportunity to be creative and to be associated with a creative field.
