National e-Waste Management Week concludes on successful note

  • CEA, Mobitel and other stakeholders collect a staggering 312 metric tons of electronic waste

The National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel in partnership with the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) and other stakeholders, made a noteworthy contribution to the people and the environment recently when it collected a staggering 312 metric tons worth of electronic waste from the public in view of National e-Waste Management Week. Mobitel played a crucial role in collecting discarded and disposable electronic waste at its collection centre in Kandy, during National e-Waste Management Week which was held from 27 May to 2 June 2014. Mobitel made one of the largest contributions during the program. Mobitel made a significant contribution to make National e-Waste Management Week a success by collecting e-Waste and creating awareness amongst the people. Thus it will continue this effort to contribute to a safer environment for all Sri Lankans right throughout the year by collecting e- waste via Mobitel branches islandwide.
