With a view of reaching out to consumers, Panasonic launched a mobile showroom last week, for the second time in Sri Lanka, which will showcase all Panasonic products to consumers in every part of the country.

Speaking at the launch, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Asia Pacific Deputy Managing Director Katsuhisa Sato revealed, “We launched the first mobile showroom in Sri Lanka in 1983. It’s not a new thing for Panasonic.”

Launching the showroom for the second time after 30 years, Sato stated, “We want to reach consumers in every part of the country. We want to get closer to the consumers.”

In an era when time is of the utmost importance to consumers, Panasonic has decided to display their various products on an 18.5 foot truck which will tour the country in a bid to reach the less accessible consumers and get closer to them.

The truck will feature a set of various products such as cameras, 3D TVs, 3D Blue Ray players, home theatre systems, audio systems, beauty products like hairdryers, epilators and hair irons just to name a few, cookery products like rice cookers, blenders, etc. and home supplies such as vacuum cleaners, washing machines, air conditioners, etc.

The showroom will also carry out live demonstrations of the products on offer, allowing customers to experience the products before purchasing. It will also have several sales assistants and technicians with in depth knowledge on all products on offer.

For the moment, Panasonic will only launch one truck. Commenting on their plans to increase the number of mobile showrooms, Panasonic Greater Mekong Marketing and Sales Senior Coordinator Nayatoshi stated, “Right now we want to see the reaction from the consumers. If there is a necessity, then we will launch more.”

Speaking on Panasonic showrooms in a general sense, Uni Walkers Head of Business Development Induka Perera said, “Currently we have 150 showrooms island wide. We want to increase our showrooms to 200 by March 2013.” Panasonic is handled by the Softlogic group which handles other renowned brands such as Samsung, Onida, Candy, Cornell and Ignis.
