Roca will be installed in the more than 3,600 newly-built apartments in the Olympic Village housing athletes of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. This will be the fourth time that Roca will have been involved with the Games, having equipped the Olympic Villages at the Barcelona 1992, Beijing 2008 and Sochi 2014 Games.
On this occasion, the brand will be supplying all the vitreous china products, accessories, faucets and ceramic tiling for the bathroom spaces of the 31 accommodation buildings that make up the residential complex.
The products chosen include their Victoria WCs, which combine efficiency, versatility, elegance and functionality, and Nexo, designed for compact spaces. The project has been based on the principles of sustainability and the rational use of water. To meet these requirements, Roca has adapted some of its products exclusively for the occasion, leveraging their capacity for innovation in water and energy saving systems. Once the event has finished, the housing, designed to accommodate around 18,000 people, will be turned over to private use.
Roca is also present in many other emblematic buildings around the world, such as Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi and Paris’s Orly international airports, the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne and Disneyland Paris.
