Launches extensive range of switches, sockets and distribution systems for the home & SME segment in Sri Lanka
Schneider Electric Sri Lanka has announced its foray in retail market with the launch of its switches, sockets and distribution systems for the home & SME (small and medium enterprises) market segments in Sri Lanka.
The retail initiative kicked off with the launch of Vivace, ZENcelo and NEO range of switches and the Easy 9 series distribution systems in Colombo at Waters Edge.
This is Schneider Electric’s first foray into the retail sector in Sri Lanka covering the home and SMB market segments and is part of a national retail rollout in Sri Lanka that will be completed by end-2014. Schneider Electric aims to appoint 3000 retail outlets in Sri Lanka by 2014-end. All the products across categories will be available under the Schneider Electric brand.
Discussing about the launch, Pradeep Saikia, Country Director – Sri Lanka, Maldives & Bangladesh said, “At Schneider Electric, we understand the need to reach out to the last mile consumer with our brand values assuring right quality, reliability, safety and efficiency. We understand that being present in the retail channel has a huge impact on consumer awareness and acceptance of the brand - hence this initiative. In Sri Lanka, we did have a good retail footprint with the well known Clipsal brand which was acquired by Schneider Electric globally in the year 2003. We have since then expanded the product range and are now re-introducing under our corporate brand ‘Schneider Electric’. We are confident that the market will try out and get benefitted from these offers based on the latest global technology and trends.”
