Elephant House Ginger Beer has made significant progress in the Maldivian market, particularly in terms of increased distribution, with the beverage now available at all leading resorts. In addition, new entrants into the Maldivian resort supply segment, Elephant House Tonic, Elephant House Dry Ginger Ale and Elephant House Soda have also made positive inroads into this highly competitive business-to-business space.

Amir Mansoor, the Managing Director of Lily International, the national distributor for Elephant House brands and a leading food and beverages supplier to major international resort chains operating in Maldives, said: “Elephant House Ginger Beer has far exceeded our expectations since its launch in the local market just a few years ago. It is now available in all leading resorts, both international chains and locally started. This is, I believe, due to its unique, refreshing taste, which sets it apart from anything else available to residents and tourists alike.”

Making these comments at the Elephant House stall at Maldives Hotel Asia 2012, Mansoor added: “Going forward, I also see immense potential for Elephant House Tonic, Elephant House Dry Ginger Ale and Elephant House Soda, and I think these international quality beverages, at reasonable price points, will do well, especially in terms of their bulk uptake by resorts operating in Maldives.”

Meanwhile, Chandima Perera, Head of Beverages for Elephant House, reiterated that Elephant House has repeatedly made known its longstanding commitment to Maldives, in general, and Lily International, in particular. “Our Maldivian sole distributor Lily International has proven their worth time and time again, not only in terms of Elephant House Soft Drinks, but also with regard to Elephant House Ice Cream, where our mutually beneficial partnership has secured us a majority market share overall. And we are confident that we can achieve similar heights with this relationship in terms of beverage sales nationally.”

Held for its eighth year at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall in capital Male, Maldives Hotel Asia 2012 featured 150 stalls and 4,000 business visitors.
