Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) recently entered into an agreement with the BOI-approved SMI Property Developers Ltd., to be the exclusive telecommunication service provider for the luxury apartment complex Orwell Residency. The envisioned 27-storied luxury apartment complex which is currently under construction in the heart of the Colombo city at Deal Place is expected to be completed by May 2017.
Once completed, Orwell Residency will be fully connected via fibre-optics, providing its residents in every apartment with access to ultra-high speed broadband through Smartline, SLT’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity, enabling download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. This will be a fully fibre-optics-enabled high rise building.
The residents of the lavish 64 apartment units will have access to SLT’s FTTH Smart Line triple play services (voice, broadband and IPTV services) as well as a PABX system for internal voice communications between the apartments in the Residency. Furthermore, apartment owners will have the option of going for a managed TV (MATV) system through which customers can select their preferred channel line-up, according to their individual preferences and requirements.
