With the evolution of information technology, many types of electronic equipment have merged with the living patterns and at present the irresponsible disposal of electronic devices at the end of their usage has created a massive damage to the environment as well as the human lives. With the understanding of the importance of managing the e-waste, LB Finance together with the hands of Central Environmental Authority, has given their contribution on ensuring an E-waste free Sri Lanka.
As they carry out their social responsibility in a precious manner, LB Finance was actively involved with the management of E-waste and currently the Corporate office and Head office are involved as the e-waste collection centres for a week from 27 May to 2 June 2014 and LB Finance Rathnapura branch was involved as a e-waste collection centre on 2 June.
With the grace of Minister Susil Premjayantha, the Central Environment Authority has organised ‘National Corporation of E-Waste Management Program – 2014’ and Information Technology AGM Chethana Kahandugoda signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of LB Finance with Central Government Authority with the purpose of providing the strength of LB Finance in order to ensure an E-Waste free Sri Lanka.
