Following a mega public service water project spearheaded by The Finance Company, the pioneering financial organisation launched the much anticipated Haragama land sales project ‘City Hills’ recently.
The project was ceremoniously opened by the Chairman Preethi Jayawardena along with the unveiling of the new water project completed by the company as a joint venture with the National Water Supply & Drainage Board.
Previously, the lack of water proved to be a serious problem for the communities living in and around Haragama before the company took it upon itself to take essential steps in developing these areas. Today, City Hills Haragama consists of 300 blocks of prime property now complete with all facilities including pipe borne water, all just minutes away from Kandy Town.
The efforts of The Finance Company, driven by an investment of Rs. 160 million have directly resulted in approximately 30,000 residents of the areas of Gurudeniya, Haragama, Thalathuoya, Sinharagama, Pubudugama, Nugaliyadde and Pinnagolla now having the convenience of pipe borne water, thereby significantly increasing their standard of living.
An impressive output capacity of 3,750 cubic metres stands testament to the magnitude of this water project that will benefit the communities who will continue to prosper in these areas. Also it is the fitting finale for the firm’s loyal customers, who invested in Haragama real estate even before water facilities were realised, and can now embark on their own construction developments.
The Finance Company PLC, incorporated in 1940, is the first registered finance company in the country, fulfilling lives for generations, with over 74 years of business excellence and operates through a growing network of 60 branches island wide.
