The 24th International Quality Crown Convention London 2012 is a part of the annual program of B.I.D., Business Initiative Directions Awards, designed to recognise the prestige of the outstanding companies, organisations and businessmen in business world. B.I.D. is currently the most important private organisation in the world formed by group of engineers, physicists, mathematicians, economists, sociologists and journalists, presenting quality awards on the basis of principles as solid as those of the Deming in Japan (only for Japanese companies), the Baldrige in the US (only for US companies), or the EFQM in Europe (only for European companies). B.I.D. has professional relations with companies in 178 countries whose products and services help position them as leaders who invest in innovation, technology, training and installations. The International Quality Crown jury is made up of more than 400 experienced professionals of the business world, specialised in quality, excellence and attention to the client. Their votes, which are crucial for selecting the BID Quality Awardees, are analysed against results obtained from the internet, as well as information from the Chambers of Commerce and media. All these guarantee a careful selection of nominated companies and the final presentation of candidates.

Every year, people from more than 75 countries attend the convention in London, one of the world’s most important cities, in the Guoman Tower Hotel, to enjoy the gala dinner and receive the award for their company. The ceremony was attended by leaders from different business fields, professionals from the worlds of economics, the arts and corporate image, quality experts, as well as academic personalities and representatives from the diplomatic corps. The event was covered by reporters, television cameras and photographers for the international media.

According to Jose E. Prieto, President and CEO of BID, “The awarded companies are symbols of commitment to leadership, innovation and technology, making them models for others in their sectors.” The companies from Europe, America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East received the BID International Quality Award in recognition of their achievements in spreading quality culture. The main sponsor of the International Quality Crown Convention was ImarPress media group, which covered the awards in London in more than 26 publications in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.
