UTE as the Sole Distributor for Caterpillar in Sri Lanka is set to kick off the Construct 2014 Exhibition by launching the latest Cat machines on 8 August.
As in the past 14 years, Construct 2014, being a one-of-a-kind exhibition, will draw customers, enthusiasts and industry stakeholders to Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre from 8 to 10 August to witness a grand display of the latest technologies in the construction sphere.
The display of these products are expected to be a major draw for participants, reflecting United Tractor and Equipment’s (UTE) long-standing support of Construct 2014. In fact, this is the 6th occasion that this mega-event is being sponsored by UTE and Caterpillar.
This year, UTE and Caterpillar have made this event more interactive, with special attractions to make the experience at the UTE-CAT stall family-friendly and engaging. Representatives from Caterpillar will also be on hand to educate participants on the most modern technologies being used in Construction Machinery to increase productivity and reduce maintenance costs.
Widely-recognised as being the longest running construction exhibition in Sri Lanka, the theme of this year’s event ‘Mulu Ratama Weda Bimak’ (The Whole Country is a Worksite), is very relevant at this time. Economic resurgence is clearly evidenced by construction projects across the country, from Colombo to Hambantota, Jaffna and Passikudah.
“One of the factors all projects have in common is that they use Caterpillar equipment. In keeping with the increased demand, UTE too has expanded its reach, by increasing and upgrading its branches throughout the country and expanding its mobile service capabilities to reach any project site in Sri Lanka within a short period,” said Janak Edirisinghe, GM – Machine Sales.
UTE will also be showcasing their state-of-the-art training centre to draw the interest of students attending the exhibition. Interested school leavers will be able to explore training opportunities and even submit applications at the event. “UTE certified technicians are recognised worldwide,” said Riyad Ismail, CEO of UTE.
UTE plans to conduct customer seminars parallel to the exhibition in partnership with the National Construction Association of SL, the main organiser of this exhibition. These seminars will cover technological trends in construction and efficiency improvement tools introduced by Caterpillar such as ‘Product Link,’ the remote monitoring system. The resource personnel from UTE’s Principals including Caterpillar are expected to facilitate these seminars.
Customers will get special offers including discounts on products, training packages, parts and service during the three days of the exhibition.
The UTE stall will be one of the largest seen at any exhibition in Sri Lanka, covering more than 10,000 square feet. The all-in-one stall will provide a glimpse of the complete array of UTE’s legendary product support services as well. “Truly customised service and maintenance agreements offered by UTE means that customers could choose the kind of support that they require for their equipment,” said Ranasinghe, General Manager – Product Support Services.
On display at the UTE stall will be Caterpillar construction equipment, with the addition of power generators and material handling equipment which make up the main components of UTE’s product portfolio.
There will also be a separate stall at the main hall of the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre to showcase allied products, which include welding products, warehouse trucks, and JLG Aerial Work Platforms.
Caterpillar is the leading brand in construction and power generating equipment worldwide and in Sri Lanka and has been represented by UTE in Sri Lanka since 1947.
