Votum and GLIDE tie up to provide energy solutions and services

Votum Energy Solutions, an international energy solutions firm and GLIDE, an energy services company and an accredited training provider by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA), signed an agreement recently to provide Sri Lankan corporate clients and industries with unique, affordable solutions and services in order to assist in capacity energy savings, efficiencies, capacity building and training.
Votum Energy provides consumers with solutions that provide an attractive payback, particularly in the renewable and solar PV field. Votum Energy is backed by Ataraxia Capital Partners, a diversified financial services company and private equity house with investments in financial services, education, energy, foods and Technology.
GLIDE’s energy management services encompass energy audits, energy manager outsourcing and special projects pertaining to energy management. GLIDE has carried out energy audits for companies such as Dilmah, Hirdaramani, Ceylon Pencil Company (Atlas) and C W Mackie (Sunquick) to name a few.
GLIDE MD Peter Rezel said: “The joint venture agreement signed by Votum and GLIDE is unique and together we will look to bring our expertise to consumers to assist in high energy costs and also reduce the carbon footprint of Sri Lanka.”
Speaking about the agreement, Votum Energy CEO Ananda Sebastian stated: “the agreement will bring together international expertise and best practices globally where Votum and GLIDE will also look to hold joint training workshops on various topics to educate consumers.”
The Votum-GLIDE combination will pursue joint training sessions and complement each other in their business proposals and joint marketing efforts.
Some of the other core areas of focus will include a patented Votum solution for the tea industry in the reduction of energy consumption and firewood in the withering process, carbon footprint calculations, green building design, capacity building and free walkthrough energy audits. GLIDE has carried out carbon footprint calculations for one of the largest conglomerates in Sri Lanka. Thus far GLIDE has conducted many training programs related to energy management and will look to collaborate with Votum in delivering these training sessions in the future.
