Access Engineering PLC (AEL) the foremost civil engineering company in Sri Lanka expanded its asphalt manufacturing plant operations by opening up its seventh plant at Kollankuttigama in Ganewalpola, Kekirawa on 6 May in order to enhance its greater efficiency in operations.
At present AEL asphalt plants are located in Kotadeniyawa, Matugama, Mailapitiya, Giriulla, Vavuniya, Okewella and now in Ganewalpola.
Along with the new plant addition, the production volume will be enhanced towards catering to the growing demand of asphalt concrete that will enable greater control over the timely delivery and quality standards of the upcoming infrastructure projects.
Access Engineering PLC, the major producer of asphalt concrete in Sri Lanka contributes to the 100,000 km Alternative Road System project being implemented by the Ministry of Roads and Highways under the direction of the President of Sri Lanka to give rural area residents the much needed accessibility to improve their livelihoods.
Access Engineering PLC General Manager – Head of Production Plants Lagath Gamalathge stated that the establishment of the Ganewalpola plant will support the ongoing government project, the ‘100,000 km Alternative Road System’ and other construction works in the vicinity. He also added that the Ganewalpola plant is strategically located in an area of the island that was geographically left uncovered in the aspect of asphalt concrete supply and through this latest commencement, Access Engineering PLC is looking forward to serve its customers better whilst further enhancing its market share.
