Automated gates installed by Cenmetrix at the Kottawa-Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre

The Kottawa-Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, providing seamless access for passengers to connect among transport modes, was declared open recently. Cenmetrix was awarded the project of implementing the terminal barrier gate solution through Sri Lanka Telecom Services.

The solution provided by Cenmetrix includes four barrier gates at the entrance and exit points of the central bus terminal to control inward and outward bus traffic. The gates consisting of six-metre-long barrier arms are controlled by the central control centre of the terminal. Barrier gates are equipped with vehicle detectors and loop coil to protect the gates as well as the vehicles from any accidents during the entry and exit through the barriers.

Commenting on the company’s involvement in this latest project, Cenmetrix General Manager – Operations Vipula Chaminda said: “Our expertise in providing a wide range of barrier gates solutions is once again proved with this involvement in the first ever multimodal transport centre in Sri Lanka. Cenmetrix supplies all types of long range, automatic, manual and maintenance free gate barriers. Since our barriers are with the most modern features, they can be used for various applications such as industrial, commercial and residential applications and operations.  Cenmetrix (www.cenmetrix.lk) is a systems integrator specializing in security and access management solutions to the Sri Lankan market for over 15 years, with 650+ customers and 5,000+ deployments islandwide.
