INSEE Cement recognises and rewards business partners at Annual Awards Ceremony 2019

INSEE Cement hosted its island-wide channel partner network to the organisation’s Annual Awards gala, the ‘INSEE Business Partner Awards’ of 2019 on 2 February at Taj Samudra, Colombo. The country’s foremost cement manufacturer recognised and rewarded the top-performing channel partners of its two leading retail products – INSEE Sanstha and INSEE Mahaweli Marine, powering INSEE Cement’s overarching vision of ‘Building the Nation’.

The theme for the night was ‘Nawa Dakmak, Yodha Piyawarak’ (A giant leap with a new perspective), where channel partners were encouraged to further strengthen INSEE’s position as the undisputed leader in the local cement market. INSEE Cement Lanka Retail Sales Head Sujeewa Perera started the proceedings of the evening by welcoming all channel partners to the event, and was followed on stage by INSEE Cement Lanka Chief Executive Officer Nandana Ekanayake.

“The resilience and unwavering loyalty shown by our business partners to promote our INSEE brand even during challenging market conditions have enabled us at INSEE Cement to reach greater heights,” Nandana Ekanayake stated. “With this energy, we are encouraged to introduce more sustainable and advanced retail cement products to our markets because we are guaranteed of your support in achieving our shared purpose of ‘Building the Nation’. We look forward to tackling new sales targets and identifying new opportunities together with our growing partner network in 2019.”

Lahiru Imbuldeniya of New Central Hardware together with Ranjith Weragala of Lahiru Enterprises were tied for the coveted Business Partner of the Year Award for INSEE SANSTHA, while A.M. Rajayee of Jasra Hardware was declared Business Partner of the Year for INSEE Mahaweli Marine.

The INSEE Cement Executive Committee and Management presented a total of 44 National and Regional level awards at the event, a glamorous affair with high-powered musical acts and entertainment.

During the event, INSEE Cement Sales, Marketing and Innovations Executive Vice President Jan Kunigk announced: “Our business partner network has grown in capacity over the past year, strengthening our brand equity across the local market with new thinking and innovative sales initiatives. So, we have introduced a ‘Special Recognition Award’ at this year’s event, to acknowledge your efforts and reward you for value creation and going the extra mile.”

Three projects were shortlisted and nominated for the Special Recognition Award, with the business partners and their family members together with the whole audience of INSEE family participated in a live vote to choose the winner. The award was won by Mahendra Liyanage of Liyanage Enterprises for introducing a novel trade promotion to drive sales volumes.
