  • Luxury Sunrise Ridge holiday homes scheduled for construction amidst successful sales of golf course land plots

John Keells Properties (JKP) reports reason to be bullish this year, having sold 90% of its exclusive Peacock Valley land plots at the Victoria Golf and Country Resorts (VGCR) in Digana within three months of launch.

Buoyed by this interest in its luxury residential projects, the property developer will proceed with launching the next phase of its golf course development plans, i.e., 16 world-class ‘Sunrise Ridge’ luxury holiday homes.

The popular golf course and country club has received renewed interest in its offering since just last year, when JKP unveiled plans for the development of exclusive residential properties at the resort. The holiday homes have also attracted the interest of prospective homeowners wanting a slice of tranquillity and sophistication in the heart of the pristine golf course.

Nestled among the lush greens of the VGCR, the upcoming Sunrise Ridge houses – designed by notable architect and urban designer Madhura Prematilleke – stand out for their elegant, minimalist facades. Each 2,000 sq. ft. luxury home will house two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living room, and a private deck, from where residents can enjoy views of the lush fairways and greens on one side and take in breathtaking landscapes of Kandy’s sprawling hills and the Victoria reservoir on the other.

Additionally, all Sunrise Ridge holiday homes have been offered up as turnkey projects; an entirely hassle-free real estate investment where VGCR will manage the property for the first five years, with all maintenance and operating costs borne by VGCR as well. Among other benefits, homeowners can enjoy a complimentary five-year membership at the Club, discounts on food and beverages, and a share of the hotel room revenue during the five-year management period.

“This exclusive property offering by JKP gives members, guests, and golfing afficionados the unique opportunity to purchase their own luxury home in one of the most highly-ranked golf courses in the world, and without the burdens often associated with vacation home ownership,” John Keells Properties Sector Head Nayana Mawilmada said. “Judging by the successful sales of our Peacock Valley offering, we are confident that investors will see the immense value in owning an exclusive property that comes with all the trimmings of belonging to a first-rate golfing community.”

Additionally, as of early 2021, John Keells Properties has chosen to collaborate with Troon International – the largest and most established golf management company worldwide – for the management of the VGCR course.

Located in picturesque Digana – less than 100 miles away from Colombo and just a short drive from Kandy, the 120-acre 18-hole course is favoured among golf enthusiasts, not just for its world-class facilities, but also for its accessibility and breathtaking panoramic views; the ideal reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city.
