Sri Lanka’s market leader in floor and wall tiles, Lankatiles made to Brand Finance’s ‘Most Valuable Consumer Brands Index’ yet again in 2022, climbing 10 positions from the previous year. This indicates a 48% growth in brand value which is an impressive feat especially under the prevailing economic climate.
Lankatiles emerged as the Most Valuable Brand in the ‘Tile’ category cementing its position as the undisputed market leader. Brand Finance is the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy that strives to bridge the gap between marketing and finance. The Most Valuable Brands Index is constantly changing with the times to reflect the external changes in the business environment.
Commenting on this achievement Lanka Walltiles PLC and Lanka Tiles PLC Managing Director Mahendra Jayasekara said: “We are honoured by this recognition and the achievement is particularly significant given the present context. We are cautiously optimistic about economic recovery in the foreseeable future and we look forward to contributing to same specially through catering to our export market which has seen exponential growth YoY.”
Lankatiles currently ranks at #48 in the Most Valuable Consumer Brands Index, up from #58 in 2021. Mahendra Jayasekara further said that the company’s advancement in the ranking may be attributed to expansion, optimisation of technology, advertising and promotion and consolidation of sales channels as remedial measures in the aftermath of back-to-back lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
