Maga wins at IESL Engineering Excellence Awards 2018

Sri Lanka’s leading construction company Maga Engineering was awarded the prestigious ‘Excellence in Engineering Award’ for the fifth time in recognition for its excellence in the Large-Scale Construction sector, at the coveted Excellence in Engineering Awards for 2018 which was held recently at the BMICH in Colombo. 

Organised by the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), the event was attended by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake as the Chief Guest amidst leaders of the engineering fraternity of Sri Lanka.

These awards are carried out to honour the most distinctive engineering personalities and institutions which have demonstrated excellence in their related academic disciplines and businesses whilst contributing to the economic growth of the country.  With this achievement, Maga Engineering becomes the organization which has achieved the highest number of accolades at the IESL Engineering Excellence Awards.

Commenting on the award, Maga Engineering Chairman and Managing Director M.G. Kularatne said: “The award represents a major achievement for us at Maga and underscores Maga’s continued success as the leading institution in the construction sector and demonstrates our contributions towards the development of innovative engineering solutions, addressing the needs of our clients whilst supporting economic development of the country. Maga is home to a workforce of over 10,000 and boasts a dynamic team that consists of 300 engineers. The company successfully rolled out an integrated resource management system across the organisation: With a focus on bringing construction technology, business processes and people together to achieve optimal business results, it has helped the company to drive systems optimisation, eliminate inefficiencies, reduces costs and optimise value generation across the board.

During the last few years, the company has completed several large-scale projects such as the NSBM Green University Town, 47-storey green building Clearpoint Residencies and 78-kilometre Ambepussa-Kurunegala-Trincomalee Road (A006) from Ambepussa to Galewela, while commencing work on several other iconic projects such as the Prime Grand Apartment Complex, Kelaniya Right Bank Water Supply Project, Central Expressway from Maditiyawala to Kurunegala and Southern Expressway from Matara to Beliatta, to name a few.
