Saninro Residences and Food Court in Ragama, located just two minutes away from the Ragama Train Station, is set to experience a major facelift in the near future by unveiling its brand new food court along with plans for a new swimming pool at the premises, with an investment of around Rs. 150 million.
Even though the pandemic has affected almost all business enterprises across the country and the tourism sector in particular, Saninro Residences and Food Court ensured its staff retention was achieved and that all necessary precautions were followed throughout.
Saninro Residences was first launched over five years ago by Saninro Managing Director and Founder of the property Mahendra Jayasekara who also hails from Ragama. RecogniSing the potential that the town of Ragama has as an up and coming commercial area, Jayasekara focused on expanding the property to a level where it would cater not only to local visitors and professionals such as medical doctors and consultants from neighbouring hospitals, but also serve as a transit hub for foreign tourists who used to bypass Ragama via the train service when travelling to and from the airport.
“It is also fair to say that Ragama is also a well-known healthcare hub with its extensive list of popular private hospitals scattered across this area and we targeted this market as well. With the great potential that we are witnessing from the town of Ragama, we felt that it was high time to start to popularise this area and promote Saninro as a family-oriented hotel that offers value for the people. Once expansions for the food court and the swimming pool will commence, we will also be focusing on upgrading the property’s star status with the Tourist Board. If you really look at it, our property is the only one of its kind in this area and goes past other major towns such as Kiribathgoda,” Jayasekara stated.
Saninro Residences Resident Manager Amila Perera said that today their main market was from banquets and dining and the roof top restaurant is a bid draw in the area. “We have two banquets halls that could cater to around 200 guests under new normal health regulations and also a separate hall mainly used for corporate conferences and private parties. Saninro Residences also has the best gym after five star hotels in Sri Lanka and this adds value to the hotel.”
