3rd AGM of SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni

The third Annual General Meeting of the SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni was held recently at Hilton Colombo residence. It was attended by the officials of Buckinghamshire New University, President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing Gamika De Silva, SLIM CEO, Executive committee of the SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni and its Membership. Priyantha Neelawala capped as the president of the SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni while Anthony Jayasena and Madhurangi Abeygunasekera were appointed as the Vice Presidents of the Association. Viraj Perera was appointed as the General Secretary, Agith Ekanayake was appointed as the Treasurer, Dilrukshi Kodithuwakku was appointed as the Assistant Secretary and Anil Munasinghe was appointed as the Assistant Treasurer. The following members were appointed as committee members; Vajira Kulasinghe, Thilanka Chethiyawardena, Subanu Perera, Manoj Handapangoda, Nayomi Handunnetti, Ajith Ushantha and Suresh Dissanayake. SLIM President Gamika De Silva stated in his speech that the Alumni has become a strong brand within a short period of time. It is adding enormous value to the Bucks MBA community. SLIM will always stretch its fullest support and guidance towards the development of the Alumni like in the past. The outgoing and the charter president Pradeep Edward addressed the gathering and thanked all the parties who have come forward and supported him in his tenure of presidency and also he elaborated the strategic reasons behind forming of the Alumni. The newly elected president Priyantha Neelawala addressing the gathering said, “I am honoured and privileged to be elected as the president in what is proving to be a crucial year with the ever increasing demands in the country and specifically in the corporate world.” He further added that he intends to fully engage the SLIM -Bucks MBA Alumni with all its stakeholders such as past MBA graduates, present and future graduates, the executive council of SLIM, CEO and the staff of SLIM, Buckinghamshire New University and community at large. According to Neelawala, the SLIM-Bucks MBA Alumni will be highly visible in the coming year, and it will create tremendous value for the Bucks MBA community. He also stated that together with SLIM they can make the Bucks MBA the most desired MBA in Sri Lanka, and that it will be the flagship for the University as it rightly should be.
