This one-of-a-kind cake is decorated in traditional Avurudu charm, yet another successful creation by Chef Pradeep Fonseka. The Avurudu Cake is garnished with an edible ‘pahana’ and banana leaf. Avurudu is a one of a kind celebration held in great reverence in Sri Lanka alone. So what better way to celebrate Avurudu than indulging with the finest traditional sweetmeats from one of Sri Lanka’s oldest colonial hotels - Mount Lavinia Hotel? As convoluted preparations of the Avurudu treats signifies the very essence of Avurudu in terms of food which will be one of the many events at MLH. With this in mind Team MLH has set up an authentic Chef Pubilis’ New Year Treat Kiosk located at the hotel premises that will be opened until 13 April from 12 noon to 8 p.m. that will have Sinhala and Tamil New Year treats made by Chef Pubilis himself. Treats on offer are kavum, mung kevum, kokis, asmi, aluwa, savory kokis, jelabi, saubora, amberella dosi, welithalapa and much more.
