Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo Open Ranking Tennis Championships 2010

The Annual Open Ranking Tennis Championship hosted by Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo will kick off on November 2nd 2010.  

This is the 8th instalment of the tournament to be hosted by the hotel and is featured on the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) yearly calendar of events to note.

The tournament is sanctioned by the SLTA and will be conducted in accordance with the codes of conduct of the International Tennis Federation and the SLTA.  This year the hotel is proud to announce that the tournament has been promoted to a B Grade from a C Grade by the SLTA based on the quality of organisation in conducting the event by the Power Drome, the hotel’s Health & Fitness club.  Last year the hotel received 400 entries, including all National level players.  

This year the participation is expected to surpass last year’s number.

The coveted trophies are accompanied by a cash prizes and will be awarded on the 14th of November, the final day of the tournament.  Entries close on October 29th, and Seedings will be posted on the Power Drome and SLTA notice boards on the 30th of October before the draw is held on the 31st of October.  

The Junior events are categorised as Boys or Girls from under 10 to under 18.  The adult events scheduled will be Men’s Open and Women’s Open for singles or doubles.  

Mr. Dharaka Ellawala will be the SLTA appointed referee whilst the Tournament Director appointed from the hotel is Mr. N.S Jayashantha who has successfully spearheaded the project each time.
