On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) invited the President of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, Jean Todt and his fiancée, actress Michelle Yeoh, to Sri Lanka.
Todt’s stay and an exclusive dinner for 150 guests held at the Hilton Colombo were both sponsored by DIMO. As the general distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Sri Lanka, DIMO represents the only luxury automobile brand with the technological expertise to compete in Formula 1.
“DIMO and Mercedes Benz have always followed the ‘best or nothing’ principle in our work ethic. We always strive to associate with only the best and work to the best of our abilities to provide the best solutions,” DIMO Chairman Ranjith Pandithage said.
The FIA is a non-profit organisation which acts as the World Motor Sports Governing Body for many auto racing events, including F1.
The federation is headquartered in Paris, and consists of 213 national member organisations and 125 countries worldwide, including Sri Lanka.
Todt has been President of the FIA since October 2009, following a career in different aspects of automobile racing, including heading the Peugeot racing department, and CEO of Ferrari.
