Dress code for cultural, religious sites from next year

The government plans to introduce a dress code for places of cultural and religious interest.

The mechanism would especially be implemented in respect of those visiting the sites of the Cultural Ministry and the Cultural Triangle.

The Minister of Culture and Aesthetic affairs, T. B. Ekanayake said that a special committee had been appointed to look into the matter and the dress code would be implemented from next year.

“Those who visit sites of the Cultural Ministry and the Cultural Triangle must maintain their discipline and as devotees, they must be dressed appropriately. We hope to inform visitors of this decision and plans are afoot to implement a programme in this regard,” said the minister. (www.news.lk)
