The United People’s Freedom Alliance’s (UPFA) Mannar District rally for the forthcoming Local Government elections was held yesterday under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Mannar Urban Council Sports Stadium.

The theme of the rally was "Sapiri Gamak - Supiri Ratak" (Towards a self-sufficient village and nation). There was a large gathering at the rally where Ministers Milroy Fernando, Rishad Bathiudeen and Governor of the Northern Province, G.A. Chandrasiri were also present - Pic by Chandana Perera
