Expolanka Holdings appoints new Board of Directors

  • Five nominees of 51% owner Sagawa including SG Holdings MD join Board
Expolanka Holdings has appointed a new Board of Directors and a Chairman, following SG Holdings’ acquisition of a controlling stake in the group, amounting to more than 51% of issued share capital. The new Board will comprise of Nobuaki Kondo, Chairman and Representative Director of SG Holdings, Japan; Hanif Yusoof, Group CEO/Executive Director, Expolanka Holdings PLC; Osman Kassim, Non-Executive Director and former Chairman of Expolanka Holdings; Naosuke Kawasaki, Managing Director of SG Holdings Global Pte. Ltd.; Yoshifumi Matsubara, Director SG Holdings, Japan; Motonori Matsuzono, General Manager of Finance and Accounting SG Holdings Global Pte. Ltd.; Toji Shiho, Non-Executive and Independent Director; Sanjay Kulatunga, Non-Executive and Independent Director; and Harsha Amarasekera, Non-Executive and Independent Director. “The new, diverse Board of Directors will manage and implement our business strategy to take the group forward by unifying the collective strengths of both Expolanka and SG Holdings,” Expolanka Holdings PLC Group CEO/Director Hanif Yusoof said. The new Board members will reinforce the Group’s considerable expertise in apparel freight forwarding and bring in a new network to take the business forward. “The diversity and the depth of experience of our new Board members will further strengthen the strategic business profile of our board,” Yusoof added. Members of the former Director Board were Sattar Kassim, Executive Director; Shafik Kassim, Executive Director; Farook Kassim, Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director; Non-Executive Independent Dr. S. Selliah resigned from the Board with effect from 27 June. Expolanka Holdings is a diversified conglomerate with interest in freight and logistics, travel and leisure, international trading and manufacturing and investments and services sectors with a global presence in over 18 countries and 45 cities.
