Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka has tied up with Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) to promote Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) towards more marketing oriented business approach through “Gamata Marketing” programme, an initiative of SLIM, under FCCISL’s Regional Business Forum Concept.

The main objective of this “Gamata Marketing” Programme is to make regional SMEs aware of marketing principles and its applications using relevant strategies and tools for effective targeting of customer segments focused on delivering more specific products and services which satisfy segments effectively and efficiently than its competitors.

FCCISL and SLIM believe that this knowledge based initiative will help uplift their business performance to next levels from where it stands now through streamlining their focus, attitudes and orientation towards market based product offerings.

FCCISL and SLIM along with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Central Province, Sabaragamuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Wayamba Chamber of Commerce and Industry have planned a series of marketing programmes in this regard.

This initiative was launched with the first programme held recently in Kandy, and two other programmes have been scheduled in Ratnapura and Kurunegala for 15 and 18 December respectively.  The final expected result is to improve regional economy by developing more dynamic, innovative and competitive entrepreneurs in the country.
