Ft.lk conquering cyberspace!

On its way to the top less than a month after its launch the web site of Daily FT, www.ft.lk is making waves in cyber space by being ranked 98th among the lk domain websites.

www.alexa.com is a web information company that ranks the popularity of websites from around the world. According to its daily update as of yesterday www.ft.lk  is ranked 98th in the “Traffic Rank in Country” category. This is a measure of ft.lk’s popularity in a specific country. The complete list of ft.lk’s ranks by country is also published on the ‘Traffic Stats’ tab on the website.

The rank by country is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors to ft.lk and pageviews on ft.lk from users from that country over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1 in that country.

“Ft.lk has a three-month global Alexa traffic rank of 198,330. Roughly 86% of visitors to the site come from Sri Lanka, where it has attained a traffic rank of 98. About 40% of visits to the site consist of only one pageview (i.e., are bounces). Search engines refer approximately 3% of visits to Ft.lk, and visitors to this site spend approximately 55 seconds on each pageview and a total of 28 minutes on the site during each visit,” Alexa website noted.  

There are also five separate sites linking into www.ft.lk.
