The Galadari Hotel is proud to showcase and recognise creativity at every level. Chef Rohana de Silva who represents the hotel’s Cold Kitchen works his magic conjuring up buffet spread displays using something very different to the normal carvings made from food or ice. This chef works wonders with paper providing intricate displays of art which are showcased at the lunch and dinner buffets of the hotel’s Coffee Shop.
Having developed this art form by himself, Chef Rohana designs beautiful displays using old magazine paper. Chef Rohana makes use of his talents to add the extra attraction to the buffet spreads of the hotel by making it more appealing to the guests who are simply stunned by his designing skills.
The Chef has plans to extend his new found talent to provide banquet table décors personalising wedding table decorations for guests. He has also created Vesak Lanterns using the same artform which he displayed during the Vesak festival this year.
