Kenya, Sri Lanka ink bilateral air deal

MENAFN: Kenya’s Minster of Transport, Amos Kimunya, said that the country inked a bilateral air deal with Sri Lanka to allow direct fights between the two countries, reported Xinhua News.

The Minister said that the agreement involves launching of direct flights services which would serve a total population of about 60 million people. Kimunya said that air services are important to enhance trade, diplomatic ties and tourism between the two countries.

The deal is expected to create trade opportunities especially in rubber products, processing and packaging of tea and the textile industry. It is worth noting that Kenya is considered the 60th country to sign an air service bilateral agreement with Sri Lanka.
