PJ Group takes first steps to donate one million trees

CEO of the PJ Group Amara Galagoda donates 2,500 young plants grown in the Group’s Paradise Earth Organic Farms to Galaboda Gnanissara Thera and Assaji Thera of Colombo, Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple for their novel Vesak ‘Ruk Dansala’ to start a tree exchange in temples and schools islandwide. The concept is to have plants to be given free and concentration will be on tree saplings. This concept has grown and come into being due to the shared environmental protection interest of Galaboda Gnanissara Thera and the PJ Group Chairman Prasanna W. Jayewardene.

Galagoda initiated this project which once started this Vesak will hopefully continue throughout the year and every Vesak. The PJ Group target is to donate a million tree saplings over the next few years.
