Selected heroes

Commander-in-Chief, President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented thousand medals and ‘sandaraya’ yesterday at Temple Trees to the war heroes of the combined forces and the Police.

The commanders of the three forces and Inspector General of Police were awarded as well. Ministers and MPs including Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa also participated at the event – Pic by Sudath Silva
