Ever find yourself driving around on a Saturday afternoon looking for a place to grab some lunch only to find that after managing to finish a full day’s work in half a day, fit in your weekend errands, pick and drop the kids from classes and take the dog to the vet, no place will serve you lunch because it’s two o clock and the kitchens are closed? So you settle instead to an unhealthy snack or spend your precious weekend hours cooking. Well, no more!
The Management at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo had you in mind when they designed their Late Lunch Special. The idea is simple. Lunch is served between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Seven Degrees North, where the hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere in which to put a hectic week behind you.
Chef Alejandro’s paella serves as a fulfilling and flavoursome meal, with seafood or vegetarian options to suit your palate. Enjoy it as the Spanish do with a chilled glass of Sangria, compliments of the hotel whilst a live band sets the tone for the weekend with their soothing music. Spanish cuisine is heavily influenced by seafood available from the waters that surround the country and reflects its deep maritime roots. Paella is a popular traditional Spanish rice dish cooked with saffron and olive oil and garnished with toppings such as vegetables, chicken and shellfish which are cooked with the rice in stock.
Seven Degrees North extends towards the Terrace too and proves an idyllic setting for a late Saturday lunch. Overlooking the hotel’s crystal blue swimming pool and the calming Beira Lake you are guaranteed to forget the week’s stresses and unwind. The large open area provides children with ample space to play whilst you enjoy your lunch.
The pricing of these dishes are as relaxed as the atmosphere. The Seafood paella is sold at Rs. 700++++ and the Vegetable paella at Rs. 600++++. For reservations and inquiries contact the Seven Degrees North team on 2491948.
