Sri TV celebrates 5th anniversary

Sri TV celebrated its 5th year anniversary at the Ceylon Continental Hotel Colombo on 15 December 2010. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Technology and Research Faizer Musthapa, Parliamentarians Ven.

Athuraliye Rathana Thero, Thilanga Sumathipala, Jayalath Jayawardena, Rosie Senanayake, Ganga Sudharshini Karunaratne, Managing Director of Seylan Bank Eastman Narangoda, Artistes Jackson Antony, Nilmini Thennakon, Kelum Wijeyasooriya and Sri TV Country Manager Hasanjith Kuruppuarachchi.  Sri TV Chairman Thushara Koorera and Managing Director Krishanthi Fernando were the chief guests at the grand event.  To mark the occasion Sri TV’s new logo was launched by its Chairman Thushara Koorera, and 2 new websites (www.sritv.lk  and www.sritvnews.lk) were launched by the Managing Director Krishanthi Fernando and Member of Parliament Thilanga Sumathipala.

The Chairman speaking on the occasion said that Sri TV had provided a high quality service to Sri Lankan viewers in Europe and the Middle East and that during the past five years it had presented new programmes and up-to-date news bulletins to viewers. He said that being the number one satellite channel in Sri Lanka, Sri TV is viewed in 158 countries including Europe and the Middle East. He also thanked the sponsors who contributed to the channel’s success. At the prestigious Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Awards ceremony held at the BMICH on 21 December Sri TV’s best commercial sponsor received a Platinum award and Kelum Wijeyasooriya was presented the award for the best news presenter.
