Tilak appointed Bansei Royal Resorts Chairman

Business leader Tilak de Zoysa has been appointed to the Board of newly-listed Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Ltd. (BRRHL) as a Non Executive Director and designated as the Chairman. Japanese securities firm and member of Tokyo Stock Exchange Bansei Securities Ltd. holds a 40% stake in BRRHL. De Zoysa is the Honorary Consul to Croatia and was conferred the title ‘Deshabandu’ by the President of Sri Lanka in recognition of his services to the country and was the recipient of ‘The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon’ conferred by the Emperor of Japan. In addition to being the Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisor to Al-Futtaim Group in Sri Lanka, de Zoysa chairs Carson Cumberbatch PLC, Amaya Hotels and Resorts USA, AMW Capital Leasing and Finance PLC, Associated Ceat Kelani Holdings Ltd., Jetwing Zinc Journeys Lanka Ltd. and HelpAge Sri Lanka. He is also the Global Ambassador of HelpAge International UK and serves on the boards of several listed and private companies, which include John Keells PLC, Taj Lanka Hotels PLC, TAL Hotels & Resorts Ltd., Lanka Walltiles PLC, Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, Dutch Lanka Trailer Manufacturers (Tata Group), Eastern Merchants PLC, Orient Insurance Ltd., Associated Electrical Corporation Ltd., Inoac Polymer Lanka Private Ltd., GVR Lanka Ltd., Varun Beverages Lanka Ltd. (Pepsi) and Cinnovation Incorporated. De Zoysa is a past Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and served as a Member of the Monetary Board of Sri Lanka (2003-2009). Following the appointment, the Board of Directors of Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Ltd. comprises T. de Zoysa (Chairman), M. Nakayama (Executive Director/CEO), T. Murakami, G.C.A. De Silva, V. Malawana, H. Premaratne and S. Perera.
