Two new Directors appointed to Asia Capital Board

Veteran banker Daya Muthukumarana and a top Malaysian professional have been appointed to the Board of Directors of Asia Capital Plc.

Muthukumarana is a professional banker who has over 40 years experience in banking and finance. He is currently the Chairman of Asia Assets Finance Ltd., Chairman SEEDS (Guarantee) Ltd., and Director Asia Siyaka Commodities Ltd.

Among previous positions held were Managing Director and CEO Pan Asia Bank, senior most Deputy General Manager at HNB, Founder Director of Capital Reach Holdings Group, Director of Credit Information Bureau, a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Bankers, Sri Lanka and a consultant to the Government of Bangladesh on Asian Development Bank project, strategic development in capacity building and skills development for bankers in Bangladesh.

The other new Director is Valentine Siva Jr, a Malaysian and formerly from Arthur Anderson and Company Malaysia (now merged with Ernst & Young). He has vast experience in corporate finance, especially in strategy and performance management and capital markets.

He is currently the Managing Director of Wealthy Strategy Sdn Bhd, a boutique corporate finance firm providing services to wide array of clients in Asia and Europe. Previously he was the financial director of a large plantation house and a listed property developer.

Following of these new appointments the Board of Directors of Asia Capital Plc comprises Mano Nanayakkara (Chairman and Managing Director), Paul Ratnayake (Deputy Chairman),  F.X.R. Pereira, A.D. Ross, Mrs. Priyanthi Pieris (alternate to M. Nanayakkara), D. Muthukumarana and V. Siva Jr.
