Ukraine International Airlines, the National Carrier of Ukraine inaugurated a new flight service to Sri Lanka from Ukraine on 13 December.
The Tourism Promotion Bureau along with Airport and Aviation (Sri Lanka) Ltd. and Hemas Aviation (Pvt) Ltd. organised a welcome ceremony on the arrival of the inaugural flight at the Colombo airport. From left: Asst. Director – Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Udayakumara Liyanage; Head of Aviation (Discover The World Marketing Sri Lanka – a subsidiary of Hemas Holdings Plc – GSA for Ukraine International Airlines) Chamara Ranasinghe; Vice President Network Development and Revenue Management, UIA , Simon Bundle; GSA Ground Supervision Team; Ukraine International Airline’s crew; and BIA officials were among those present. With the number of tourists from Ukraine increasing significantly, this flight which will be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays is expected to strengthen the relationship between Ukraine and Sri Lanka.
