The main opposition United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian accused of instigating protests in London during Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s visit to the UK has called on the Government to seek action against the persons involved in organising the protest.

UNP legislator Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena has told a local electronic media institution that the persons involved in the protest were mostly Tamils who were British citizens subject to British laws.

The UNP MP has said he vehemently condemned the incident because the protest was held against the head of the country.

Dr. Jayawardena has said the Government needed to question the British Government on this incident and find out how such an incident was allowed to take place.

The opposition legislator is alleged of instigating pro-LTTE protests in London that led to the Oxford Union to cancel President's scheduled address to the Union.
