British Airways expands network

British Airways has resumed long-haul flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Bahrain, with service to Grenada and Seychelles scheduled to commence on 14 and 16 October, respectively.

Lahore, a new addition to British Airways’ route network, will take off on 12 October while new Heathrow services to Maldives and Barbados will launch on 16 and 17 October respectively.

On short-haul routes, British Airways resumed flights to Brussels, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Gothenburg, Milan Linate, Stuttgart, Seville and Valencia on Thursday. Bilbao, Kefalonia and Luxembourg take off today and Lanzarote returns on Saturday. Later in the month, BA services will resume to destinations including, Gran Canaria, Billund, Bordeaux, Basel, Brindisi, Cologne, Malta, Salzburg, Vienna and Zagreb.

British Airways’ Network and Alliances Director Neil Chernoff said: “We’re glad to be returning to more destinations this month, connecting the UK with more and more countries around the world. With increases in both long and short haul services, there is a destination for anyone, and with our enhanced safety measures we hope this encourages people to start planning their next getaway.” Travellers are advised to check local restrictions and entry requirements of their destination and returning city. For example, those arriving in the UK may have to self-isolate for 14 days, and should frequently check the government’s website which is updated frequently.
