The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka launched the first workshop for this year on 6 December at the EFL Auditorium. The workshop was organised as part of CILT’s continuing professional development.

OSM Holdings Group Chief Operating Officer Wasantha Sooriyarachchi and BlueScope General Manager Kemantha Perera were the resource personnel. The topics covered were benchmarking, modelling applications of industry best practices, utilisation of technology in warehouse management, steel warehousing – design, installation and manufacturing for improved durability.
The key feature of the workshop was the visit to the state of the art modern EFL warehouse. 45 participants attended the workshop. CILT Sri Lanka Chairperson Gayani de Alwis CMILT and Vice Chairperson Education Dr. Namali Sirisoma, CMILT attended the event along with the CILT secretariat staff. A membership drive was also organised at the workshop.
The Vice Chairperson in her welcome speech mentioned the importance of continuing professional education in an individual’s career journey and that CILT is committed towards supporting in this. Chairperson briefly spoke about CILT, and its global affiliations and about the activities of CILT and invited participants to be part of a globally renowned professional body.
