DP Logistics expands to Jaffna with multi-user warehouse complex

DP Logistics Ltd. (DPL), a leading logistics solutions provider in Sri Lanka and a member of the David Pieris Group of Companies, is set to achieve a major milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for Jaffna’s first multi-user 3PL warehouse. This initiative is part of the Group’s Northern Development Program and reflects DPL’s commitment to fostering economic growth in the Northern Province.

The foundation stone for the state-of-the-art warehouse complex was laid at No. 202/21, Kadduvan Miliddy Road, Myllidy, Kankesanthurai, Jaffna, by DPL Managing Director and CEO Kalum Katipearachchi, and DPMC Assetline Holdings Ltd. CEO Chamilka Ambagahawatta, Project Consultant Architect Dinuk Senanayake, Nawaloka Constructions CEO Kalana Alwis, along with officials from the DPL and David Pieris Group companies.

This new facility will enhance supply chain and warehousing capabilities in the region, supporting Northern Province and other Sri Lankan businesses to cater more efficiently for the needs of the people of Jaffna and driving regional commerce and economic growth. Designed to cater to diverse industries, the 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse will offer reliable, scalable and cost-effective storage solutions, creating new opportunities for businesses in the Northern Province.

Commenting on the new development, DP Logistics Managing Director and CEO Kalum Katipearachchi, stated, “We are pleased to establish our warehousing footprint in northern Sri Lanka, which plays a crucial role in economic development of our country. This is the first purpose built multi-user warehouse complex in the Northern region, and we aim to complete its construction within six months. This facility will serve both local and international businesses, providing state-of-the-art logistics solutions”.

He further emphasised that the warehouse’s strategic location offers significant advantages, as it is centrally positioned near the airport, seaport and other key business hubs, making it a high-value investment for the region’s economic development.

The new warehouse in Jaffna marks another step forward in DPL’s mission to revolutionise the logistics industry in Sri Lanka, reinforcing its position as a trusted leader in the industry.
