For the past, eight years, the Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) pioneered and introduced high quality corporate quizzes to the Sri Lankan industry. The SAC is the only organisation that brought in international teams from the Central Banks of the region when it inaugurated the Governor’s Challenge Trophy with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Subsequently the Terminal Operators’ Cup in association with the terminals of Colombo was launched.
“It is all about capacity building and getting people to read more and be more knowledgeable in their business area, where we promote general knowledge to create a better business environment, it helps companies and individuals as it also brings connectivity between the trading community, government and state institutions. This event would have not been possible to be so high standard if not for our sponsors,” said Shippers’ Academy Colombo CEO Rohan Masakorala. The ExIm & Logistics Trophy is the third such quiz focused on the development of the export and logistics industry of Sri Lanka, and the 9th overall quiz of SAC where international trade related companies and service providers competed for this prestigious trophy which was awarded together with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board which supported the event to be launched under the able leadership of Indira Mallwatte who is also currently involved in the National Export Strategy (NES) project of the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade.
