Board of Airline Representatives (BAR) recently celebrated its Chairman Dimuthu Tennakoon’s decade of extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to Sri Lanka’s aviation sector, at a special event held at Shangri-La Hambantota.
The gathering saw leading figures from the aviation industry who recognised Tennakoon’s vision, resilience and vital role in bridging the gap between the Government and aviation stakeholders, celebrating his enduring impact on Sri Lanka’s aviation landscape.
Under his stewardship, BAR successfully navigated critical challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic crisis addressing operational hurdles like foreign exchange shortages and high fuel costs.
The event underscored that Tennakoon’s efforts ensured Sri Lanka’s continued appeal as a destination for international airlines, bolstering tourism and significantly contributing to the national economy.
BAR Vice Chairman Sudesh Rupasinghe, highlighted Tennakoon’s open leadership style and dedication, attributing many of BAR’s achievements to his guidance.
He also extended best wishes for Tennakoon’s continued success in leading the industry forward.
